Artemisia abrotanum
Southernwood is an extremely aromatic deciduous shrub, known for its gorgeous blueish green leaves and delightful citrus scent. It is a great companion plant for the Florida winter garden, as the strong scent deters cabbage moths, as well as fruit tree moths, and even ants. The leaves can be crushed and rubbed on the skin to deter mosquitoes and other insects. Additionally, the young shoots can be eaten as a bitter herb to aid in digestion and to improve liver function.
