Salad Greens- Upland Cress
Barbaraea verna
Often classified as Land Cress (Barbarea verna). Rosettes of dark green, strongly lobed leaves with a very peppery, and faint watercress taste. They grow well in Florida's cool season, fall through spring. It's perfect in salads, burgers, and on its own. This is one of the most flavorful salad greens we've come across. Quite hardy in the cold, but needs a cold frame or hoop house in Florida's Northern zones, over the winter. It doesn't have to be in water to grow; it can grow anywhere it wishes.
