Salvia coccinea
A gorgeous Florida native wild flower. It's the perfect addition to any butterfly garden, with its bright red showy flowers, known to attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bumble bees. This versatile herbaceous plant from the lamiaceae or mint family, grows well in sandy native soil and is somewhat salt tolerant. Tropical salvia will grow as a self-seeding annual, or can be perennial if cut back after flowering/seeding.
