Description
Tomato- Roma Heirloom (Determinate)
Solanum lycopersicum
This Roma tomato is determinate, meaning it grows to a certain height, has a bushy appearance, and puts out all of its tomatoes at once. Roma tomatoes give a large harvest of firm, thick walled, 2-4oz fruits, that are perfect for canning or making sauces. Because of the robust growth nature of the plant, they typically do not need as much support as their indeterminate cousins. These open pollinated, heirloom tomatoes are great if you plan to save seed. Roma tomatoes also make a pretty good slicing tomato, so putting them on a sandwich or burger is not unheard of. This great all around tomato, is more on the heat tolerant side, continuing to set fruit after night time lows get in the mid 70s range.
