Tarragon- Texas Tarragon
Tagetes lucida
Also known as Mexican Mint Marigold and Mexican Tarragon, this leafy perennial herb, is native from Central America north to southern Texas. It has small blade-shaped green leaves that grow in pairs, up mildly woody upright branches, splaying out like palm fronds. At the end of the summer, golden-yellow four-petaled flowers bloom profusely atop branches measuring up to three feet long. After the edible flowers have bloomed, the leaves are harvested. The flowers and leaves have the same fragrance and taste. Easily grows from cuttings.
