Spinach- Viroflay

Spinacia oleracea

Viroflay is considered an heirloom open-pollinated breed, and it is thought to have originated in France in 1866. The massive, deep green, tender leaves of "Viroflay" or "Monstrueux de Viroflay" spinach is a spinach lover's gourmet delight! Producing spinach is a breeze with these tender leaves! Extremely robust, and particularly well-suited to fall plantings. Plants seeds 1 to 2 inches apart, and use the baby spinach that has been thinned out. Extremely robust, and particularly well-suited to fall through winter plantings. Use the thinned seedlings in salads right away, and then use the mature plants for cooked or raw spinach.
