Pole Bean- Blue Lake
Phaseolus vulgaris
This robust vine produces bean pods from the bottom to the peak of its six-foot or more high vine, making it a favorite among farmers and gardeners alike. It yields a large crop of tender, crisp, stringless pods that remain tender even when fully grown (still better to harvest young). It's perfect for cooking fresh, freezing (blanching is optional), and canning. Blue Lake stringless pole beans are named after the Ukiah, California lake district. The original Blue Lake bean was discovered growing wild in Native American gardens in the upper Missouri River basin.
