Lonicera sempervirens
This beautiful trumpet-like red flower is native to the woodland area and prefers well-draining sand. This vine can be grown in full sun to partial shade and can tolerate cold. This vine can reach 3-20 feet tall, but also takes aggressive trimming if you need to keep it under control. The perennial plant is part of the Caprifoliaceae family, also known as the honeysuckles. Following 2-inch bright red flowers that typically bloom from March to June come red berries that vary from red to black. The vine is not known to be aggressive but is a great option for climbing or sprawling. If you want a plant that brings in the hummingbirds, this is it.
