Radish- Giant White Daikon
Raphanus sativus var
They are often known as daikon radish, long white radish, and oriental radish. White Icicle is a common open pollinated radish (daikon) variety. It's heat resistant and can be cultivated all year in tropical climates. The 6" long, white, tender, crisp root has a slight pungency. They are native to east Asia and also consumed in South Asia. In some regions daikon is planted for soil nutrition recovery.
