Oregano-Greek
Origanum vulgare var. hirtum
Greek oregano is a hardy perennial herb that has the potential to spread. The dark green leaves are round in shape and have a gritty texture and light fuzz. The flowers, like many of the culinary oreganos, are small and white. It was first discovered growing on the slopes of mountains and often called Rigani, O. Vulgare ‘hirtum. Some use it to ease symptoms related to indigestion, cough and regulate menstruation.
