This "beauty heart" variety of Chinese radish is the most commonly grown in China's middle and northern regions. Watermelon radish is another name for it. This globe-shaped variety has a green shoulder and dark pink flesh. They're the best radishes to carve into flower shapes as garnish because of their color. It has a light, sweet taste and a crisp texture. Eating raw is a healthy choice. Simply thinly slice and serve with a squeeze of fresh lime and a pinch of salt and pepper, or sugar. They are also good for pickling.
