Basil-Thai Red Stem

Ocimum Basilicum

Thai basil has a sweet anise, licorice-like flavor, with a hint of that familiar basil spiciness. It has small, narrow, leaves similar to lemon basil, with purple colored stems and flowers. Just like other basils, contains high levels of Vitamin K, and moderate levels of beta carotene, vitamin C, calcium, folate, iron, magnesium, manganese, copper, and omega-3 fatty acids. Makes an aromatic garnish for soups, sandwiches, salads, and is so delicious added to stir fries...or even used to make thai basil pesto!

Days to maturity 70-80 days
Life cycle Annual
Plant time Spring through Summer and into early Fall until cooler weather starts
Spacing 2-4"
Sun Full sun
Soil temperature minimum 70 degrees F
Optimum soil P.H 60-7.0
