A gorgeous Florida native vine. This plant provides plenty of flowers for pollinators and is a host plant to several butterfly species, including Monarch, Queen and Soldier butterflies. In the Apocyanaceae, or milkweed family, this vining plant blooms clusters of white flowers in the summer through fall, but can bloom all year. This plant is a perennial that prefers the moist wetlands of Florida. Good in zones 9B- 11. Very young plants are not frost tolerant at all, and even very mature plants can die from a hard freeze. If a hard freeze is coming, cover your plants, and/or take cuttings.
