Capacity Plus contains chitosan which is a natural polymer that improves performance and efficiency of all Whitwam Organics products by keeping them where you need them. Chitosan promotes a natural plant defense and improves resistance to fungus and nematodes.
Our concentrated liquid amendment and adjuvant:
  • improves the exchange of nutrients through the plant root system,
  • improves yield by keeping fertilizers and nutrients in the root zone,
  • helps pesticides stay on the leaves,
  • prevents fungal problems before they become systemic,
  • breaks up existing fungal and nematode colonization, and
  • promotes a sustainable reaction by the plant to many pathogens
Chitosan, a common natural polymer, increases drought tolerance, reduces water loss from plants, and reduces overall irrigation requirements. Use it by itself or when you apply other products on your farm, lawn, or garden. When checking with product compatibility, Capacity Plus would be considered an ionic surfactant. To check compatibility of Capacity Plus with another product, mix at the appropriate ratios in a mason jar and check for separation. Capacity Plus may cause particulates in another product to flocculate out of solution.

APPLICATION
Apply Capacity Plus alone or with other products at a rate of
2-6oz. per gallon of water or as a 2% v/v in a tank
mix. With all mixes, add 1/2 the water
first, then Capacity Plus, then fertilizer or pesticide
while mixing, then the remainder of water while
continuing to mix.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE FOR ALL NEW PLANTINGS OF SEEDS AND PLANTS

(Secret Formula for raised beds)
-Per 32sqft-

Before planting

add 3lbs of 5-6-6 and

1.5lbs of 12-0-0

to our 50/50 Compost/Garden Soil, raised bed mix. Mix thoroughly, vertically into the top 3-4 inches.

If the soil is like giant oak logs in a fire, then these granular fertilizers are like the small sticks and logs to your fire.

Immediately after planting,

pour over your bed using 1-2 gallons of water

4oz of Compost Plus,

2oz of Micros Plus, and

4oz of Capacity Plus.

These liquids, are like the paper to your fire.

Follow up feedings -post-planting-

For the first few weeks after planting, use just the Compost Plus.

If feeding 1 time per week, apply 4oz per 32sqft in 1-2 gallons of water. I use 2 gallons because I get a more even spread. Use however much water you can comfortably spread the product out in 32sqft.

If feeding 2x per week then 2oz per feeding, and if feeding 4x per week, then 1oz.

Essentially, use the same amount of product per 32sqft, per week. More dilute more often is definitely better, but I know we all have schedules. Do this, for the first 2 to 4 weeks after planting. You will know when to stop.

Use Compost Plus again during the growing season, if fast growth is what you need from your plants.

Follow up -during the season-

Every 1 to 2 months, apply Micros Plus and Capacity Plus with 1-2 gallons of water.  If applying every 2 months then 2oz and 4oz respectively. If applying every month, then go at half the rate. Kind of like with the Compost Plus.

Re-apply 1/8 to 1/4 of the original application of 5-6-6 (no 12-0-0) every 45 to 90 days or as needed until the end of the growing cycle.

  • “My live plants were packed like they belonged in Ft Knox. 😂 They really were packed beautifully. Only one plant, a bee balm, is questionable but signs that it will recover are happening. All in all I am thrilled with my plants and seeds. Some of my coreopsis have already sprouted!”

  • “I’ve ordered seeds from Whitwam Organics 3 or 4 times now. I love the simple packaging, clear planting guidelines, and variety they offer. Great germination rates!! The bare root plants I’ve ordered have come healthy, so healthy that the wild rabbits always approve of my menu upgrades! 😂🐰”
