Pepper-Habanero
Capsicum annuum
This group contains some of the spiciest of all peppers. Habanero is a Spanish word that means "from Havana." Habanero and its relatives migrated from the Central America to the Caribbean Islands, many, many years ago. The Jamaican Scotch Bonnet is a similar cousin. Habanero has a delicious, pungent, smoky taste that complements its scorching heat; many people find its flavor and aroma addictive in sauces.
