     One of the most overlooked foundations of successful gardening is variety selection—the right plant, in the right place, at the right time. It’s not just practical; it’s a core cultural control in Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Choosing a cucumber that thrives in summer or a lettuce that tolerates warmth reduces stress on plants and helps avoid pest outbreaks altogether. In fact, we often see pests completely ignore one variety while attacking another planted just inches away. That’s nature talking—so we listen.

     This is where it all started for Whitwam Organics—garden-variety fruits and vegetables in the most literal and playful sense. From beans and brassicas to tomatoes and peppers, this is your go-to section for edible crops that feed your family and your gardening spirit. We don’t just grow one version of each crop—we trial multiple varieties of cucumbers, kale, melons, okra, lettuces, and more to find what performs best in different seasons and conditions.

     Based on natural cycles and grow-out time, our edible crops are offered as live plants seasonally. Seeds may be available year-round, depending on the crop and variety.

    All of our plants are grown in-house using organic growing methods.
